‘Elite’ citizen Kelsea Tafirenyika, co-accused spent second night in ‘college’ over drug bust

27By Nigel PfundeHarare- ​ ELITE citizen and socialite Kelsea Tadiwa Tafirenyika (22) spent a second night in custody on Thursday after Magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa deferred the ruling on her bail application to Friday.​Tafirenyika appeared in court alongside co-accused Isaac Arab Jassub following the joinder of their cases.Opposing bail, State prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti argued that releasing the pair poses a flight risk and a strong likelihood of reoffending.​The prosecution alleges that on the night of August 4, CID Drugs and Narcotics detectives acted on a tip-off regarding drug dealing and raided Tafirenyika’s home in Greystone Park.Officers reportedly caught her sitting on her bed counting ampoules. A subsequent search of the property yielded over 200 ampoules of pethidine and morphine, while five rolls of dagga were recovered from the driver’s armrest of her white Lamborghini.​Both suspects were detained and taken to CID Drugs and Narcotics Harare alongside the seized substances, which police value at US$204.
