13By Nigel PfundeHARARE – StarAfrica Corporation Limited is set to hold its 92nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) virtually on August 27 with the spotlight firmly fixed on the boardroom as two seasoned directors mount their campaigns for re-election following their mandatory retirement by rotation.In a notice to shareholders issued Thursday (today) by company secretary Dzingayi Maworera, board members Sarudzayi Njerere and Odiline Kava are retiring by rotation in accordance with Article 100 of the company’s Articles of Association.Both directors, who have been pillars of the sugar processor’s governance structure, have formally offered themselves for re-election to retain their seats.Their bids come backed by formidable professional pedigrees. Prior to her board appointment, Njerere honed her legal expertise as a partner at Honey & Blanckenberg and served in the Attorney General’s office.Kava brings to the table extensive corporate experience spanning FBC Holdings, the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation and Nikuza/Diamond Insurance Limited.Beyond the high-stakes board re-elections, shareholders will vote on several critical governance and financial resolutions.“The meeting will open with a motion to consider and, if deemed fit, approve the holding of the Annual General Meeting electronically (Virtually) via Microsoft Teams.“Shareholders will also deliberate on the group’s financial health, with a motion tabled to receive and approve the Audited Financial Statements and the Reports of the Directors and Auditors for the year ended 31 March 2026,” wrote Maworera.The statement further stated that on the auditing front, shareholders will vote “to approve the remuneration of the independent auditors for the year ended 31 March 2026” and “to appoint Messrs.
