Mozambique: Business delegation visits ExxonMobil Houston campus — Photos

During meetings with ExxonMobil representatives, the Mozambican business delegation expressed interest in establishing technical and vocational training programmes, developing partnerships with US companies already supplying ExxonMobil, and gaining a better understanding of the company’s certification, quality and safety requirements. ExxonMobil leads the consortium developing the Rovuma LNG project in Area 4 of the Rovuma Basin in Cabo Delgado province. As part of its domestic natural gas development strategy, the company highlighted its commitment to making gas available to strategic sectors of the economy.

The initiative aims to transform the country’s natural resources into sustainable economic value, stimulate new investment and contribute to the diversification of the national economy. At the same time, ExxonMobil and its partners are investing in workforce development through the establishment of the Mozambique Technology Centre in Zimpeto. The facility is intended to provide technical training and prepare Mozambican professionals to meet the needs of the natural gas industry.

The Mozambique Technology Centre is expected to welcome its first intake of trainees in 2028, with an initial capacity for 250 students.
