From Houston to Cabo Delgado: Mozambican delegation advances LNG partnerships

The visits gave Mozambican business leaders direct exposure to two of the world’s leading companies in the energy sector and created an opportunity to discuss partnerships, knowledge transfer and the participation of national companies in the oil and gas supply chain.

The engagement with ExxonMobil was particularly relevant as Mozambique prepares for a new cycle of investment in liquefied natural gas. At Halliburton, the delegation gained insight into the technologies, services and technical capabilities required to support major oil and gas operations.

“The opportunity for Mozambique goes beyond the extraction of natural resources. We must use these investments to develop national suppliers, transfer knowledge, create jobs and build stronger industries around the energy sector,” said Manuel.

For MozParks, the visit is closely linked to the company’s expansion in Cabo Delgado, where it is developing industrial parks and logistics platforms to support companies operating within the growing LNG supply chain.

Through developments such as Afungi Industrial Park, MozParks aims to provide investors, contractors and Mozambican suppliers with the infrastructure and operating environment required to establish and expand their businesses, helping convert LNG investment into broader industrial and economic growth.

The visits to ExxonMobil and Halliburton form part of the wider Mozambican Business Mission to the United States, taking place from 3 to 7 August 2026 in Houston and Washington, D.C., with the participation of more than 30 Mozambican business leaders.
