Under the theme “Uniting Communities through Culture, Cuisine, and Conservation,” the festival aims to boost tourism, support local businesses, and promote environmental awareness Fishing competitions, braai cook-offs, cultural exhibitions, and live entertainment will form the heart of the festival, attracting anglers, chefs, artisans, and tourists alike The event is open to families, fishing enthusiasts, and local entrepreneurs “This festival highlights our natural resources, strengthens community bonds, and positions Kariba as a must-visit destination,” said Siamilandu
The event is organized by the Zimbabwe Union of Journalists (ZUJ) Kariba Chapter, with support from ZUJ National, Thorngrow Investments, and Kumabirira Lodges ZUJ Secretary General Perfect Hlongwane praised the initiative as a step toward self-sustaining projects for the union “With donor fatigue setting in, we need to develop our own funding models,” Hlongwane said “The Kariba Braai Festival is a great opportunity for the corporate world to promote their brands, connect with artists, and engage with the media.”
