President Hakainde Hichilema has assured the people of Namwala District of Southern Province that the government will ensure that the construction of Monze – Niko Road is completed on time in order to spur economic development in the district. And President Hichilema has directed the Road Development Agency RDA to ensure that a roundabout is also constructed on the road to reduce road accidents in the area. The Head of State has further directed RDA to also work on Namusonde – Mala Road as well as to open up a road that will lead to Itezhi-Tezi District.

President Hichilema said this today when he addressed Namwala residents at Mangwele Primary and Secondary School grounds. President Hichilema also noted that the government will ensure that Chitingo Livestock Centre is opened in order to vaccinate cattle and protect them from different diseases. “This road that you are seeing today did not just come from nowhere, we saw the challenges you were facing, and we planned as a government and ensured that the road was constructed and it is here.

“It is now my job to ensure that the road is completed with a roundabout to ensure that no accidents should be recorded as well as construct other roads,” he noted. On employment, President Hichilema stated that the government has employed teachers and health workers among others to ensure that the living standards of people are uplifted. President Hichilema also outlined different social protection programmes as well as implementation of the free education policy as some of the interventions that the government will continue to implement once voted back into power on August 13.
