Mozambique | LAM reinforces operational capacity with 37% asset growth

Assets atLinhas Aéreas de Moçambique(LAM) grew 37 percent in 2025, a performance that, according to the airline, reinforces its operational capacity and balance sheet position as part of its ongoing financial recovery process. “The approved results demonstrate a 37 percent growth in assets, strengthening the Company’s operational capacity and balance sheet position,” states the press release issued by the company. The statement adds that over the same period, the flag carrier reduced its liabilities by approximately 13 percent and recorded a significant decrease in supplier debt.

According to LAM, these results reflect the restructuring measures, cost rationalization, and operational efficiency enhancements implemented throughout the fiscal year. The company further indicates that operational costs decreased by approximately 20 percent, while total equity improved by roughly 5.3 billion meticais. Despite these advances, the airline acknowledges that challenges regarding liquidity and the consolidation of its financial structure persist.
