Throughout 2026, Gapi disbursed over 377.9 million meticais to finance business and productive initiatives in various regions of the country, reaffirming its commitment to financial inclusion, the development of value chains, and the revitalization of the rural economy. The resources benefited 289 financing operations , covering micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, individual producers, associations and family businesses, with a particular focus on provinces and districts where access to financing continues to be one of the main challenges to economic growth. Agriculture stood out as the main sector funded, absorbing around 168 million meticais , equivalent to more than 44% of the total amount disbursed.

Support focused on agricultural producers, product marketing, input supply, and activities related to strengthening rural value chains . In addition to agriculture, the funding covered strategic sectors such as construction and public works, livestock, manufacturing industries, commerce, transport, services and technologies, contributing to the diversification of the national productive base and the creation of business opportunities in different segments of the economy. Disbursements were largely concentrated outside major urban centers, reaching locations such as Nampula, Lichinga, Cuamba, Tete, Quelimane, Pemba, Morrumbala, Montepuez, Angoche, Mecubúri, Nhamatanda, Marrupa, and several other predominantly rural areas.

This geographical dispersion demonstrates Gapi’s effort to bring financial solutions closer to the communities that most need capital to produce, invest, and generate income. Young entrepreneurs are also among the main beneficiaries of funding, especially through initiatives related to commercial agriculture, service provision, trade, and local innovation. More than just numbers, this funding translates into cultivated fields, acquired equipment, strengthened small businesses, created jobs, and families with better income prospects. The impact also extends to increased local production, food security, and the strengthening of the economic resilience of communities.
