Ethiopian Airlines adds Mauritius, Mozambique and Oman connections for Russian travellers

Ethiopian Airlines is expanding its international network with the launch of new services to Mauritius, Mozambique and Oman, creating additional travel opportunities for passengers connecting through its Addis Ababa hub. The new routes, which begin operating from July 12, are expected to be particularly attractive for travelers departing from Moscow, according to airline representatives. The expansion comes as Ethiopian Airlines also increases its Moscow service, strengthening connectivity between Russia, Africa and the Middle East.

Ethiopian Airlines will offer onward connections from Addis Ababa to Mauritius, Mozambique and Oman via its growing African hub network. For passengers traveling from Moscow, transit times to Mauritius and Mozambique are relatively short, with connections of approximately three and four hours respectively. Flights from Moscow Domodedovo Airport to Mauritius will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays under a single-ticket itinerary, with a total journey time of approximately 16 hours and 50 minutes.

Passengers traveling to Mozambique will have access to flights six days per week, with a total travel time of around 16 hours and 30 minutes. The new Oman service will involve a longer connection through Addis Ababa, with total travel time reaching approximately 26 hours, including a 17-hour layover. However, travelers can take advantage of Ethiopian Airlines’ complimentary stopover program, which includes hotel accommodation, airport transfers and two meals during their stay in the Ethiopian capital.

Passengers transiting through Addis Ababa for less than 24 hours do not require an Ethiopian visa. Stopover vouchers, including hotel details, are issued at check-in counters in Moscow or during the return journey.
