Banking Sector Rebounds as U.S. Sanctions Lifted

Zimbabwe’s financial sector is beginning to recover after the U.S. Treasury lifted sanctions in March 2024. Banks have started regaining over 100 correspondent relationships that had been lost over the past two decades.

This development reopens access to global financial systems and international credit lines. Experts say the move could be a major turning point in restoring investor confidence and economic integration.
