Former MMD National Chairman and Information MinisterSTAN KRISTAFORhas endorsed PresidentHAKAINDE HICHILEMAand the UPND ahead of the 2026 General Elections. KRISTAFOR, who also served as Member of Parliament for Kitwe, says he is campaigning for President HICHILEMA because he believes the UPND has demonstrated its capacity to govern the country. He says there is currently no credible opposition offering a viable alternative to the UPND, claiming that the Patriotic Front—PF—is virtually finished.

The former MMD National Chairman has cited the defection of former PF members, includingMILES SAMPA, to the UPND as evidence of growing support for President HICHILEMA. KRISTAFOR has challenged opposition leadersBRIAN MUNDUBILEandMAKEBI ZULUto explain how they intend to create jobs and develop the country if elected. He says President HICHILEMA’s experience in business and economics makes him a competent leader capable of steering the country forward.

KRISTAFOR has also called on Zambians to maintain peace before, during and after the elections. He has urged all political players to respect the outcome of the polls and support whoever is elected to govern the country. KRISTAFOR says political differences should not be allowed to degenerate into violence or conflict.
