A 33-year-old man is expected to appear in the Magudu Magistrate’s Court on Monday (July 27) after police recovered dagga with an estimated street value of R2m near the Pongola River,reports Northern Natal News. According to police, officers acted on intelligence that four men had been seen carrying bales of compressed dagga before concealing them in a bushy area near the river. Police searched the area and recovered 19 bales of compressed dagga.

One suspect was arrested at the scene, while three others allegedly fled before they could be apprehended. The suspect has been charged with dealing in dagga. Police said investigations are continuing as officers work to trace and arrest the three remaining suspects believed to be involved in the drug operation.
