Speaking during a meeting with the Chinese delegation, Chachine called for Macao’s support in identifying business leaders and partners in mainland China and Macao, with a view to strengthening business cooperation and attracting new investments to Mozambique. “We have made the commitment to work to strengthen small, medium, and large enterprises, believing that they constitute the true engine of the economy,” he declared. He added that the CCM’s actions are aligned with the Government’s strategy, which focuses on increasing national production, industrialization, job creation, and economic development.

Despite Mozambique’s potential, Chachine acknowledged that the country continues to face high levels of poverty, arguing that cooperation with China could help boost production and economic development. “We know how China managed to develop in a short period of time and became a global power. Your experience could help Mozambican companies produce with higher quality and competitiveness,” he stated.

The CCM president further argued that a sustainable partnership between Mozambique and China must be based on balanced and mutually advantageous relations. He highlighted sectors with high potential for cooperation, such as agriculture, agribusiness, agro-industry, tourism, logistics, the blue economy, and the automotive industry. He also recalled that Mozambique’s ports and development corridors serve several countries in the region, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, reinforcing the country’s strategic importance for regional trade.
