CTA President Álvaro Massingue said, during the meeting, that the presence of the Polish business mission in Mozambique demonstrates confidence in the country’s potential and opens a new chapter in economic relations between the two nations. For Massingue, although trade exchanges remain modest — with Mozambican exports to Poland exceeding US$100 million in 2024, dominated by coal, cashew nuts and tobacco — the growth potential is “extraordinary”. The CTA President described Mozambique as a gateway to Africa, highlighting the country’s unique competitive advantages: its strategic location on the Indian Ocean, access to Southern African logistics corridors, and, above all, access to large-scale markets.

Massingue also pointed to investment and partnership opportunities in energy, oil and gas, infrastructure, agro-industry, and health. Massingue stressed that CTA wants to go beyond increasing trade: “We do not only want to increase trade between our countries.

We want to create companies, factories, jobs and innovation. We want Polish companies to find in Mozambique a reliable partner to grow in Africa.” To this end, CTA reaffirmed its willingness to support the identification of local partners, facilitate institutional contacts and assist Polish companies wishing to establish or expand operations in Mozambique. Head of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires to Mozambique, based in Pretoria, Jacek Chodorowicz, acknowledged Mozambique’s strong economic potential, highlighting the country’s competitive advantages, namely the richness and diversity of its natural resources, its strategic location along the Indian Ocean coast, and its role as a logistics corridor for several landlocked countries in Southern Africa.
