Durban CBD property owners and business managers have pledged to work with the eThekwini Municipality to ensure legitimate business activities are protected. During a meeting with municipal leaders, stakeholders committed to strengthening co-operation with the city, including ensuring that lease agreements are not entered into with undocumented foreign nationals and supporting efforts to safeguard Durban’s economy. eThekwini Speaker Cllr Thabani Nyawose said the meeting had been constructive and focused on finding practical solutions.

“Today I had a meeting with CBD business property owners and managers,” said Nyawose. “They want to work with the city in managing the current civil protests by ensuring that legitimate business activities are not affected whilst dealing with the illegal immigrants issue.”
