Letters | What sort of ceasefire is this?

Some ceasefire this is in Gaza. Since October 2025, Israel has killed close to 600 Gazans, breaking the ceasefire agreement. Nothing that the Gazans do post the ceasefire justifies the violence continuously perpetrated by Israel on innocent people, especially children.

There seems to be no accountability imposed by the U.S., the brokers of the ceasefire. It’s ironic that the so-called Peace Board for Gaza is chaired by a warmongerer like Donald Trump. And the ultimate betrayal is no place on the board for Palestinians.

On the West Bank, which is controlled by the Palestinian Authority, Israel continues increasing its spread of occupied territory, with new developments springing up regularly. Again, there is no accountability. Freedom and justice seem to be a long way off for the Palestinians.
