According to Dr. Tee, distributors previously played a central role, often purchasing music even before its official release. “In those days, distribution was organised and reliable.
Today, artists have to hustle to sell their own music,” he said. Tee observed that modern musicians were operating in a less stable industry environment, where financial support and formal distribution systems were no longer assured. As a result, artistes are increasingly forced to manage their own marketing and sales in addition to their creative work.
