In a significant high-level engagement at the African Union (AU) headquarters, the leadership of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), led by President Chief Fortune Charumbira, held a fruitful meeting with H.E. João Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government, marking a pivotal moment in continental diplomacy.

As President Lourenço concludes his successful tenure as the Chairperson of the African Union, passing the baton to Burundi, the PAP delegation expressed deep-seated gratitude for his unwavering support.

  • Gender Equality and Equity: Providing a legal blueprint for women’s empowerment across the continent.

    Reaffirming his dedication to the African cause, President Lourenço pledged to remain a steadfast ally of the Pan-African Parliament. He emphasized that the harmonization of laws is essential for the full realization of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the broader goals of Agenda 2063.
    As the AU transitions to its 2026 theme of water security and sanitation, the collaboration between the executive and legislative branches remains vital for a prosperous, integrated Africa.
