COMMISSIONER General of Police Stephen Mutamba has revealed that officers will soon use body-wear cameras and it would be mandatory for them to wear name tags during operations. He has challenged his officers to be exemplary foot soldiers who are the face of justice on the city streets and in the villages. In his address at the launch of the 2026 ZRP Client Service Charter, Comm-Gen Mutamba said: “As the most visible arm of Government, we must embody professionalism, respect, integrity, and impartiality.
“Let us be a beacon of hope rather than fear, the face of justice instead of judgment.” He called for increased public involvement in addressing police corruption and tackling crime. “These devices will deter misconduct and protect honest officers. “Modern policing cannot be confined to the ground, we are utilising drones to strengthen our operational capacity with aerial surveillance.” “Use the contact information provided in the Client Service Charter to share your concerns, commendations, and suggestions.
“A tree grows stronger when it withstands the winds that blow against it. “Your feedback, especially when pointing out our mistakes, is the gust that will make the ZRP stronger, more resilient, and more trustworthy.” “One path leads back to mistrust and distance. “The other leads us toward a Zimbabwe where every citizen feels safe, where every police officer symbolises order, and where our collective security becomes the foundation of a prosperous future.
