Review of ‘Bubblegum Milkshake’ by Stephen Gawking & Eva Morgan– Stephen Gawking is back with a new track,Bubblegum Milkshakefeaturing Eva Morgan. It might just be one of my favourite things he’s ever put out. One of those songs that instantly feels light, fun and carefree, the kind of song you bop to without even thinking.
But it’s more than that. If you sit with it for more than a moment, you will realise there’s a whole lot more happening beneath the songs sugar sweet surface. That’s exactly what makes it so special, Stephen Gawking style.
It delivers the good vibes, but still gives you something real to hold onto if you’re someone who loves to unpack a song’s deeper layers, like I do. The ‘feels’ are there. The message is there!

Choosing to go with female vocals wasthemove. Eva Morgan was the perfect match for this track. Her tone, her energy, the way she leans into that punchy, pop attitude… The whole production carries this Pink-like flair (you know, that iconic mix of fun, attitude, and honesty), and as a long-time Pink fan, I felt immediately at home with the sound.
Familiar and appealing, while still feeling entirely Stephen Gawking’s own. And then, there’s the message. The sprinkles on the Bubblegum milkshake of hidden truth that is carried within the sweet deliciousness of appealing pop.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re feeling rightIt doesn’t matter if you’re drowning, drowning your lifeSipping lightning from a paper crownIt’s all a masked gameLike children on a playground” The world has become so good at pretending. Masking, performing, holding everything together on the outside while falling apart inside. These lyrics call it out so clearly, yet so gently.
They’re a reminder of how desperately we’re craving humanity again. Genuine connection. This song, wrapped in its colourful pop package, quietly nudges us to remember who we were before everything became a façade… and maybe, just maybe, to go back to heart.
Bubblegum Milkshake is sweet, but it’s also sincere. Fun, yet thoughtful, exactly what I personally need in my music. A good time that gets you thinking about the real stuff!
