Review of Jackson Colt’s ‘Van Helsing‘ – As an avid lover of gothic vibes and all things eerie, it was easy to sink my teeth right in with Jackson Colt’s latest offering of blood… sweat and tears,‘Van Helsing.’The title alone instantly fires up that 2004 Hugh Jackman nostalgia. The leather coats, the ancient curses, the unapologetic monster hunting drama, and Jackson Colt absolutely leans into that mood with ease. You can feel the atmosphere tightening like a storm cloud from the get go with the haunting church bell effects.
The guitars come in sharp and cinematic, almost like an opening shot. Jackson’s vocals slice through with his signature rock and roll swagger, giving the song an energy that perfectly matches the hunt or be hunted theme. It’s moody, it’s dramatic, and it’s dripping with modern goth flair that I’m all here for.
