According to official figures from the ZTA, tourist arrivals from the United States experienced an extraordinary surge, climbing from 18 756 in 2021 to 109 959 in 2025. To build on this momentum, the ZTA has embarked on a multi-city engagement campaign across eight major North American hubs, six in the U.S and two in Canada under the Africa’s Eden Roadshow. The roadshows kicked off in Atlanta, serving as a critical touchpoint for the ZTA to directly connect with North American travel specialists, destination marketers and members of the Zimbabwean diaspora community involved in travel trade.
Representing Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon.Barbara Rwodzi is ZTA Chief Executive Dr George Manyaya who emphasized the government’s push to leverage these diaspora connections to champion sustainable tourism, improve destination accessibility and drive new investments under the flagship “Experience Zimbabwe” destination brand. ”Encouraging American travel advisors and international partners to discover ‘A World of Wonders’ and experience Africa the Zimbabwean way is central to our strategy, reaffirming our commitment to expanding public-private partnerships abroad,” Manyaya said. ZTA engaged with 12 prominent travel advisors and Africa destination specialists keen to expand Zimbabwe’s profile across North America.
A shift in consumer interest was highlighted during the sessions, while world-famous attractions like Victoria Falls, Hwange and Mana Pools remain major draws, travel agents actively sought out new itineraries featuring lesser-explored gems including the Eastern Highlands, Great Zimbabwe, Matobo, and Gonarezhou. In a boost to commercial partnerships, Tri Sij Travel confirmed its readiness to begin selling Zimbabwean travel packages, demonstrating the immediate commercial dividends of ZTA’s targeted roadshow. To sustain this growth, the ZTA is laying down a long-term framework for trade collaboration.
