Getting yourTrinity Audioplayer ready…Following a recent Supreme Court ruling, the Government of Zimbabwe, through the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, has reaffirmed recognition of the faction of former liberation war fighters, led by Comrade Moffat Elias Marashwa, as legitimate leaders of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) that is registered as a Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO 1 of 1990).In an interview with Spiked Online Media, Cde Marashwa said the endorsement has also been formally acknowledged by President Cde Dr.
Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and the Secretary of the ZANU PF War Veterans League, Cde Douglas Mahiya.Cde Marashwa recently represented war veterans at the Manicaland ZANU PF Provincial Conference, a move seen as further confirmation of his association’s legitimacy and close working relationship with both the War Veterans League and the Office of the President. The Supreme Court of Zimbabwe has affirmed the leadership of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) under Cde Moffat Elias Marashwa, effectively recognizing his faction as the legitimate representative body for the country’s former freedom fighters. This follows a Supreme Court decision delivered in May 2025, which struck off with costs an appeal lodged by a faction of the association led by Cephas Ncube and Samuel Parirenyatwa.
