Online ReporterThe Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) has released the June 2025 Ordinary and Advanced Level results, with both levels recording higher pass rates.Zimsec board chairperson, Professor Paul Mapfumo, said the total number of candidates who sat for five or more subjects in the June 2025 examinations was 511, which is 1,27 percent of the total candidature of 40 368.The remainder sat for less than five subjects.“Of these, 30 candidates passed with a Grade C or better, yielding a pass rate of 5,87 percent.In comparison, the total number of candidates who sat for five or more subjects in June 2024 was 383, which was 1,27 percent of the total candidature of 30 088, and the remainder sat for four or fewer.“Of these, 17 candidates passed with Grade C or better, yielding a pass rate of 4,44 percent. The 2025 pass rate, therefore, increased by 1,43 percent,” said Professor Mapfumo.Although the number of June 2025 Advanced Level candidates fell to 110 from 120 in 2024, the pass rate surged.“Of the 110 candidates, 62 wrote two or more subjects, and 42 obtained Grade E or better in two or more subjects,” he said.“This translates to an overall pass rate of 67,74 percent. In comparison, in the June 2024 examination, 52 candidates wrote two or more subjects, and 38 obtained Grade E or better in two or more subjects.
This translates to a 31,67 percent pass rate.”The results are available online from today (Saturday) through the Zimsec portal for five days.Heads of examination centres can collect physical results from Zimsec regional offices starting Monday, August 4.Share on FacebookPost on XFollow usSave
