Mthabisi Tshuma in HarareTHE Governments of Zimbabwe and Russia have united forces to initiate training of Zimbabweans, mainly youths, in ethical hacking, simulation of real-world cyber-attacks and cyber-security fundamentals.The event being held at a local hotel in Harare is being held under the theme, “Securing Zimbabwe’s Digital Future – Building National Capacity through Strategic Partnerships”.In his welcome remarks, Russian Embassy in Zimbabwe Chargè d’ Affaires Mr Sergey Kuzin said the initiative comes after meaningful discussions between the two countries.“This event comes after three bilateral meetings between President Vladimir Putin and President Mnangagwa where the latter visited Russia three times in the past three years.“Information Communication Technology (ICT) is among several key projects that were discussed as Russia moves to eliminate the divide between major power countries and developing countries,” said Mr Kuzin.The event is being officiated by ICT, Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera who is accompanied by her deputy Dingumuzi Phuti, permanent secretary Beulah Chirume and ICT Ministry officials.Share on FacebookPost on XFollow usSave
