ALL coaches in Zimbabwe’s domestic football must be holders of approved and valid qualifications for them to execute their duties in the Premiership and lower division leagues, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has stipulated.
In a circular to men and women’s football clubs from the top-flight league to Division Two, ZIFA acting secretary general Norman Gwangwadza said this requirement will be enforced for the 2026 season.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association wishes to advises clubs competing in the 2026 football season that the following coaching qualifications will apply. The head coach for Premier Soccer League clubs is required to be holder of a Confederation of African Football (CAF) A licence while his assistant must have a CAF B. Men’s Division One Leagues head coaches must have CAF B and their assistant CAF C. For Men’s Division Two Leagues, both head coaches and their assistants are required to have CAF D.
“Head coaches in the Women’s Premiership must have CAF B and their assistants CAF C, while those in Women’s Division One Leagues are required to have CAF C and CAF D respectively. Both head coaches and their assistants in Women’s Division Two Leagues must have CAF D licences,” said Gwangwadza.
All coaches must be registered in the FIFA Connect Platform, added Gwangwadza.
