ZIDA said the key highlights of the collaboration included conducting joint research and policy advocacy initiatives, exchanging information on legislative developments and investment-related issues and organising joint capacity development initiatives on resource governance in Zimbabwe. “This partnership is key to enhancing investment in the country for the growth of the national economy. “We will ensure investors get information on mining and agriculture, among other sectors, so that they can comply with responsible investment standards to safeguard natural resources,” he said.
He explained that the two organisations had areas of common interest and joining forces was key to attracting responsible investment. Mr Mtisi said the agreement solidifies their shared commitment to ensuring that all investments in Zimbabwe are responsible, sustainable, and uphold environmental justice. “By working together on policy, research, and capacity building, we aim to champion a future where economic growth and environmental stewardship go hand-in-hand for the benefit of all Zimbabweans.” Mr Mtisi added that the organisation was working at the intersection of law, policy, and community empowerment, while focusing on areas like responsible mining and addressing the impacts of projects on communities. ZIDA is Zimbabwe’s one-stop shop for investors, offering a range of services that help investors realise their goals from their first time entry to expansion of existing operations.
