THE Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) says the revised Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations have reduced review fees for Environmental and Social Project Briefs (ESPBs) and Environmental and Social Impact Statements (ESISs). In a statement, ZEMA Manager Corporate Affairs Ruth Kanyanga Kamwi said fees which are effective January 9, 2026, have decreased from K17,300 to K5,300 for ESPBs and from K1,300,000 to K600,000 for ESISs. She added that the review timelines had also been shortened, with ESPB reviews now taking 20 calendar days, down from 45 working days, while ESIS reviews taking 30 calendar days down from 60 working days.
