Zanu pf steps in to rebuild storm-hit mberengwa school the zanu pf party leadership in mberengwa has mobilised resources for the reconstruction of three classroom blocks that were destroyed by a violent storm at makuwerere primary school last week. The hailstorm left more than 120 learners stranded after it damaged key learning infrastructure, however, relief has come for the affected community after the zanu pf leadership handed over building and learning materials to the school on thursday. The gesture is part of ongoing efforts by the ruling party to ensure that learning continues uninterrupted while the damaged infrastructure is being restored. Reconstruction works are expected to commence immediately, with local stakeholders also pledging support to speed up the rebuilding process.
“when we encountered this situation, we engaged our member of parliament for assistance and today, he has fulfilled his promise through a donation of roofing sheets and learning materials meant for the rehabilitation of two school blocks and pupils. This donation comes at the right time, with our learners being assured of a conducive learning environment since the rainy season is now upon us. We appreciate this effort,” the deputy head of makuwerere primary school, mr nhamoinesu dziva said. The government and its development partners reiterated commitment to transforming the education sector by creating a conducive environment for learning. “in the education sector we seek to address a number of outstanding issues.
A number of schools have water challenges, some of the infrastructure in the school is dilapidated, and these are the discrepancies that we want to address. We also want to ensure that there is decent accommodation for staff,” mberengwa central legislator, honourable shumba said.
