NewsPoliticsBy Nigel PfundeHarare-ZANU PF Harare Province Vice Chairman and Churu constituency Member of Parliament Engineer, Hon. Ephraim Fundukwa, has declared that a massive free skills training programme set for launch tomorrow under the Tonganyika Trust is not merely a charitable handout-but the very catalyst needed to unlock Constitutional Amendment Number 3.“These initiatives are the very steps calling for the success of Constitutional Amendment Number 3, because no constitutional provision lives until the people feel its power in their pockets and their hands,” said Cde Fundukwa. The programme, branded “Skills and Development towards Vision 2030,” targets Ward 1 of Churu Constituency under the Registration Centre model. It kicks off on 6 April 2026 at 9 AM at Rujeko Primary School (Pa Chiko).Eleven free courses are on offer include Driving, Hotel and Catering, Solar Installation, ICT, Welding, Early Childhood Development (ECD), Detergents and Cosmetics, Events Planning (Deco), Mortician, Care Giving, and Earthmoving Machines.Cde Fundukwa, who also engineered the initiative, made it clear the stakes are political and constitutional.“We are empowering this constituency in line with Vision 2030 and NDS 2, skills are the real currency of an upper-middle-income economy and we will start tomorrow in Churu,” he said.Cde Fundukwa then pivoted to a sharp political offensive, the programme is designed to breathe life into Harare Province’s party cell structures.“This is a broader initiative to strengthen and rejuvenate Harare Province’s cell structures.
A weak cell cannot defend the Constitution, we are rebuilding from the very bottom.”He also branded the skills drive a “silent weapon” against drug and substance abuse, a growing menace in the area.“These skills are our silent weapon to fight drug and substance abuse in this area. We are replacing the syringe and the pipe with a welding torch and a laptop,” he said. The event is powered by Hon. Tongai Mafidi Mnangagwa, Secretary for Information and Publicity, MP for Hunyani Constituency, and Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry.Political analysts said the focus on Constitutional Amendment Number 3, which seeks to entrench devolution and local economic empowerment, signals a deliberate campaign to marry grassroots development with constitutional implementation ahead of future polls.Leave a ReplyCancel reply NewsPoliticsBy Nigel PfundeHarare-ZANU PF Harare Province Vice Chairman and Churu constituency Member of Parliament Engineer, Hon.
