ZANU PF Conference officially opens with calls for sustained national development

Story by Bruce Chahwanda, Political EditorTHE 22nd ZANU PF National People’s Conference kicked off in Manicaland Province amid calls for sustained development to transform livelihoods across the country.The conference witnessed the unprecedented rolling out of developmental projects meant to empower communities.The provincial leadership is grateful for the inclusive agenda being driven by the Second Republic, with at least 51 projects having been implemented in Manicaland.“We are united as a party in this province, and this is why we call for your leadership to go beyond 2030. Your Excellency, you have done a lot for this province and the people are happy,” ZANU PF Manicaland Provincial Chairperson, Cde Tawanda Mukodza said.“The Second Republic under your leadership, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa, is doing tremendous development across the province, and 51 new projects have been commissioned. The Christmas Pass and Forbes Border projects have taken off, showing your dedication to seeing every part of the country develop. We also want to thank empowerment initiatives by the First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa,” Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza noted.ZANU PF Secretary General, Advocate Jacob Mudenda, emphasised the importance of the conference in terms of implementing party resolutions, while National Chairperson, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, outlined some of the achievements by the party during the year under review.“Powers of the conference are to receive and consider reports from the Central Committee, review and evaluate, as well as supervise the implementation of resolutions, among others.”“We have witnessed massive development implementation across the country, and as a united party, we must forge ahead with the implementation of party programmes to transform communities,” Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri weighed in.The two Vice Presidents, General (Rtd) Dr Constantino Chiwenga and Colonel (Rtd) Kembo Mohadi, rallied party members to continuously guard jealously the existing unity.“We have a history that guides the future. We must move forward as one people, bound by one shared vision as we implement our people-centred projects across the country,” Vice President Chiwenga said.“We must continue to conquer through a united front and a peaceful party that delivers the needs of the people. We have done a number of projects across the country, and we must continue to do so for the good of the nation,” Vice President Mohadi added.The 22nd ZANU PF National People’s Conference is being held under the theme: Attainment of Vision 2030 Through Economic Empowerment and Value Addition.
