GOVERNMENT has signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese investors on the development and implementation of large-scale renewable energy projects in Zambia, with a focus on solar power. The MoU which includes China Pingmei Shenma Holding Group Company Limited and LONGi Green Energy Technology Company Limited, establishes a framework for cooperation in renewable energy projects across the country and paves the way for investments of up to 1,000 megawatts of solar power. Speaking during the signing ceremony, Wednesday, President Hakainde Hichilema said the project reflected a strong bilateral relationship between Zambia and China.
