THE Copper Queens will conclude the year ranked fourth in Africa on the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Rankings, which continue to be dominated globally by world champions Spain. Zambia climbed one place to 64th in the world following a 3-1 victory over Zimbabwe and a 1-1 draw against 153rd-ranked Malawi during the recent international window. The results were enough to boost their global standing, but not sufficient to retain third position on the continental list.
Despite the Copper Queens’ upward movement, Ghana surged ahead of them in the African rankings.
