The Premier Soccer League has banned Yadah official Spencer Muvadi for a year after he was found guilty of assaulting goalkeeper Godknows Gurure. The overzealous Muvadi turned on the helpless keeper at the Heart Stadium’s home dressing room following Yadah’s 2-3 loss to Ngezi Platinum Stars on August 22. Muvadi accused the Gurure of culpability in a game Yadah had led 2-0 for a significant period.
The assault received widespread condemnation and the PSL has banned him from conducting any official football duties within their jurisdiction for 12 months starting immediately and also ordered him to pay US$4000 in addition to footing the costs of hearing. In a statement, the PSL said: “The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has issued its judgment in the matter involving Yadah FC, its representatives and the Club’s Executive member Spencer Muvadi following the assault on Yadah FC goalkeeper, Godknows Gurure after their match against Ngezi Platinum Stars FC played on 22 August 2025 at the Heart stadium. “Mr Muvadi was found guilty of breaching the PSL Rules and Regulations and the Committee has imposed a fine of $4,000 (Four Thousand Dollars), together with the costs of the hearing.
In addition, Muvadi has been banned for a period of one year from conducting football business for Yadah FC or any other club participating in the Premier Soccer League, including holding any official position. He was further barred from attending any matches under the jurisdiction of the Premier Soccer League for the same period. Yadah FC were also found guilty of contravening the PSL Rules & Regulations and were fined a sum of $5,000 (Five Thousand Dollars) together with the costs of the hearing, which must be paid within fifteen days from the date of the judgment. That means Muvadi’s last local Premiership match he has had to attend was the Harare Derby between CAPS United and Dynamos where he was seen observing from the VIP section.
