WOMEN UNITED CHURCHES 4ED DEPART FOR Africa Women Summit to be held in MALAWI CONFERENCE

Over 150 Delegates to Market ‘Brand Zimbabwe’ at Africa Women Summit HARARE– More than 150 women from churches across Zimbabwe left Harare the country on 2 July 2026 en route to Malawi for the Africa Women Conference . The delegation, travelling in two buses under the “Mubatanidzwa “banner, is led by Women United Churches 4ED, an affiliate of the Together For All Trust. The Trust serves as an umbrella body coordinating more than 100 affiliates under its Economic for Development portfolio.

The road trip was flagged off with prayers and blessings from the delegation’s Patron, His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa. Speaking before departure, the women pledged to use the platform in Malawi to market the Zimbabwe brand and showcase the country’s values of unity and development. Head of the delegation, Rev Ellen Mwale, said the mission demonstrates that the Church and government can work closely for national progress.

“This move is to show the African continent that politics and the Church can work closely together for the betterment of development,” Rev Mwale said. She also expressed gratitude to President Mnangagwa for granting the delegation permission to travel and assured him that the team would represent Zimbabwe with dignity. “We will market Brand Zimbabwe,” she added.

Overseer Winner Moyo* of AFM Zimbabwe, who is part of the delegation, said the trip was a milestone for Women United Churches 4ED. “We assure the nation that Zimbabwe is a peaceful country, and our participation in Malawi is a milestone for Women United Churches 4ED,” Overseer Moyo said. Charity Mangena of the Lutheran Church echoed the same sentiments, promising a strong Zimbabwean presence at the summit.

“We are promising fireworks in Malawi tomorrow. We praise the Churches for coming forward and making this journey a success,” Mangena said. The delegation draws from multiple denominations under Mubatanidzwa, including the African Episcopal Church, Methodist Church, Divine Evangelical Church, AFZ Zimbabwe, and Habakkuk Apostolic Church, among others. The Africa Women Conference in Malawi is expected to bring together female leaders from across the continent to discuss economic empowerment, unity, and community development.
