Weather alert: Eight provinces brace for thunderstorms and fire risk

The South African Weather Service (Saws) has warned of heavy storms, hail and strong winds expected in many regions, while extreme fire danger threatens Western and Northern Cape areas. Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the Northern Cape, western parts of the Free State, as well as the West Coast district and the Beaufort West local municipalities in the Western Cape.
