UPND spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa says the party should have done its homework with regards the adoption process of its candidate in the Chawama by-election. Meanwhile, Mweetwa says the UPND government has no obligation to hold the opposition together. FDD’s Bright Nundwe was declared the winner of the January 15 by-election in Chawama with over 1,500 votes against UPND’s Morgan Muunda.
Speaking when he appeared on KBN TV, Tuesday, Mweetwa said the changing of candidates and some remarks made by Muunda negatively affected party’s performance in Chawama. “I want to be very candid here; there are no two ways about it. I think that perhaps the adoption process of candidature.
