Springbok coach Rassie Erasmusis expecting afierce arm wrestle when the world champions face Argentinain Buenos Aires on Saturday night, with both teams having plenty of uncertainty to overcome. Erasmus has brought seven players back from injury for the clash, while the Pumas have been weakened by the absence of several Europe-based players because the match falls outside the international window.

That could make for an unpredictable contest at Estadio José Amalfitani. “I think it’ll be a helluva grind, especially because many of the guys have been out for a while with injuries,” said Erasmus. “They’ll be a little unsure in the game and need to find their feet, and we’ll need to help them with that.” The Springbok coach believes Argentina will face similar problems as they field a youthful side, including a bench with limited Test experience.
