The search is continuing for two of five people who were swept out to sea at Pennington main beach on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast on New Year’s Day. IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Samantha Meyrick said lifeguards managed to rescue one person, who was found to be in a stable condition.
Two bodies have since been recovered, with one washing up on the shore late on Thursday night. Meyrick added that search and recovery operations would resume at first light on Friday morning.
