The national rugby team, the Sables, received a hero’s welcome this afternoon as they were officially paraded at the lively Save Beach Bash Tourism Jamboree, held on the picturesque banks of the Save River.
Thousands of jubilant fans erupted in celebration as part of the Rugby World Cup -bound squad in 2027 in Australia made their grand entrance, proudly waving to the ecstatic crowd.
The moment was marked by deafening cheers, ululations, and a palpable sense of national pride.
In a symbolic show of unity between sport and tourism, the Sables joined the festivities on the dance floor, where they were promptly joined by Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Honourable Barbara Rwodzi, Manicaland Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Advocate Mischek Mugadza and other dignitaries.
The inclusion of the Sables in this year’s jamboree underscores Government’s commitment to leveraging sport as a driver for domestic tourism and national branding.
