The Midlands Hindu Society (MHS) is hosting its Holi Festival at Raisethorpe Secondary School. The community is invited to attend the event, which started at 2pm and will be continuing in the evening with a hawan, Holikdhan and breaking of the Kalasa. MHS Public Relations Officer Yaksha Sarawan said the family event will also include games for the youth.
“Holi is the triumph of good over evil. There will be the lighting of the bonfire and the breaking of the Kalasa along with a hawan,” said Sarawan. The festival has started and will end at 11pm.
There are food, clothes and other stalls available. Entrance fee is R10 and parking is available at the school.
