WATCH: Air India Plane Carrying 242 People Crashes in Ahmedabad Minutes After Take Off

A London-bound Air India plane carrying over 240 passengers and crew crashed today in Ahmedabad’s Meghani area.

The passenger plane crashed in a residential area just meters away from Ahmedabad airport.

Air India confirmed the horror accident in a statement, stating;

“Flight AI171, operating Ahmedabad-London Gatwick, was involved in an incident today, 12 June 2025. At this moment, we are ascertaining the details and will share further updates at the earliest.”

The Boeing Dreamliner plane reportedly took off at around 1:47 PM, slightly behind schedule. It is believed to have crashed just nine minutes after receiving clearance for take-off.

Videos capturing the moment the plane took off and subsequently crashed have since emerged on social media.

In videos shared onsocial media, flames can be seen erupting from the plane as it crashes into what appears to be a building.

Heavy black smoke was seen coming from the accident scene.

Reacting to the tragic crash, Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu expressed deep sorrow, stating;
