The High Court has granted bail to Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) leader Walter Magaya in the amount of US$3,000. To secure his release, Magaya was ordered to reside at his provided address and report to the police every Monday and Friday. Additionally, he must surrender his passport to the clerk of court and title deeds for his Mt.
Pleasant property. Magaya was initially arraigned at the Harare Magistrates’ Court on January 26, 2026. The State opposed bail, citing the severity of the allegations and raising concerns that he might flee or interfere with witnesses.
The case was later escalated to the High Court, which approved bail under strict conditions. The charges stem from alleged incidents between 2016 and 2023. Complainants claim they were sexually assaulted during prayer sessions, employment-related interactions, and private meetings.
