Mukudzei Chingwere recently in MaronderaVice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga has called on the populace to lead humane lives of love and selflessness and desist from the growing spirit of primitive accumulation of wealth at the expense of others.He was speaking at the memorial service of his late sister Mrs Magret Machekabuwe in Marondera on Saturday, who passed on in 2018 and described her as an epitome of selflessness and hard work.VP Chiwenga said his sister was a hardworking woman who loved her people, her family and her nation to the extent that she sacrificed and risked a lot by partaking in liberation war activities through her work as a collaborator (chimbwido) and worked honestly and tirelessly to provide for her family after the death of her husband in 1995.The VP emphasised on the need to leave a legacy of championing family values, community and national interest.His call came amidst spirited Government efforts to champion rapid economic development towards an empowered upper-middle income economy by 2030 as espoused by President Mnangagwa.Under Vision 2030, President Mnangagwa’s desire is to see every citizen having access and enjoying the benefits of a middle-income economy.“I want to express my gratitude to the families who have gathered here to honour my sister, Magret Machekabuwe.
