Chawama votes as UPND deals with pocketing of campaign funds

CHRISTIAN Churches Monitoring Group (CCMG) says UPND supporters were recording voter’s card and NRC numbers of voters before handing out handouts during the Chawama by-elections campaigns. CCMG also says it recorded 10 critical incidents of harassment, violence, voter inducement, and campaigning at polling stations on election day. In a statement, Monday, CCMG Programme Director Peter Mwanangombe stated that Notwithstanding those incidents, the group noted that the by-election met national, regional, and international standards for a credible election.
