The UPND Alliance has announced plans to seek police approval for a solidarity walk to celebrate the government’s achievements, including Zambia’s removal from the list of countries that have defaulted on debt, among other milestones. Group Spokesperson, Leslie Chikuse, said the Alliance also intends to hold a prayer session to thank God for guiding the country through difficult times and for blessing Zambia with renewed hope. Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday at the UPND Alliance Secretariat in Lusaka’s Ibex area, Chikuse emphasized that the successes recorded under President Hakainde Hichilema belong to all Zambians.

“These achievements are proof that with unity, disciplined leadership, and bold reforms, the country can overcome challenges and reclaim its future,” he said. He reaffirmed the Alliance’s support for President Hichilema and the UPND government as a vehicle for continued progress toward the 2026 elections. In addition, Chikuse claimed that three opposition parties had joined the Alliance: the New Nations Party led by Dr.

Nevers Mumba, the Party for National Unity and Progress led by Highvie Hamududu, and the Economic Front Party.
