The local cricket team campaigning in Cricket South Africa’s Division 1, the Moothee Ram Tuskers, will host DP World Lions at Pietermaritzburg Oval in the CSA One-Day Cup on Wednesday. The visitors are expected to be difficult customers as they carry a lot of experience. They are also expected to bring a high-tempo game from the onset.

“[Lions] are a strong team boasting some seasoned Protea players,” said KZN Inland Cricket Jason Sathiaseelan, adding that their recent win and getting maximum point against Lions will be a major boost for the team. “Relegation is also dependent upon other results. We are just happy with the win which has been forthcoming,” he said.

We have been close on so many occasions to turn results in our favour, but in cricket you require some luck as well and we have not had too much of that. The union is trying its best to not to dwell on the negatives and have now turned their focus to the next game, he said. “That’s always the challenge but we have a good bunch of guys that know how the union operates and they are professionals who focus on cricket. “The good work undertaken at KZN Inland is well documented and we will continue on that path,” said Sathiaseelan.
