United Church of Zambia set to receive K500,000 donation from Hichilema in support of projects

President Hakainde Hichilema has pledged K500,000 towards the construction project at St. Paul’s Congregation in Kasama District of Northern Province. The pledge was delivered on Sunday by the President’s Special Assistant for Politics, Levy Ngoma, during a church service at UCZ St.

Paul’s Congregation. Alongside the donation, Hichilema urged Zambians to refrain from spreading falsehoods and misinformation, warning that such actions have the potential to undermine the country’s peace and unity. He described the rise in misinformation as worrisome, noting that Zambia’s longstanding peace should not be taken for granted.

“Citizens must rise and reject falsehoods in order to maintain peace and unity in the country,” he said. The Head of State further appealed to citizens to remain united despite belonging to different political groupings, adding that national peace is a collective responsibility. Meanwhile, the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Northern Presbytery leadership expressed gratitude to President Hichilema for demonstrating strong political will that has contributed to peaceful political campaigns in Kasama.
