Soft spoken, with a deep love for his country.
In his mind he believed that Zimbabwe’s problems can only be solved via dialogue.
In his honest pursuit of dialogue he has found himself behind the curtain rails.
He left the comfort of the leafy environ of Lusaka and a fledgling but very promising business enterprise to meet with the Zimbabwean political elite.
In his mind bygones had become bygones, armed with access to international capital and diplomacy he had hoped to play a pivotal role in helping Zimbabwe chat a new territory where the leaders and the led all worked on one Vision- towards a united and prosperous Zimbabwe amid the chatter and clutter of 2030 sloganeering.
Little did he know that all assurances of security from his intermediaries were just but a pie in the sky!
On this day, 62 days after his military style seizure at Harare International Airport, @waltermzembi continues to languish in remand prison without trial.
The state has continued to keep him in detention even though they are not ready to prosecute him.
His co-accused in his case were acquitted a long time back in 2019.
Why is he being kept behind bars.
Why is he not getting tried.
Why is the state not ready.
This to me appears like political persecution!
I make a direct appeal to the authorities- please release Walter he is harmless.
He can’t even harm a housefly.
