Botswana’s food import bill eased slightly in September despite continued heavy reliance on foreign supplies for key staples, new data from Statistics Botswana shows.

The country imported goods worth P7.06 billion during the month, of which Food and Beverages accounted for P1.17 billion, or 16.5 percent of the total. That marks a four percent decline from August as softer cereal and sugar inflows offset rising demand for beverages.
